Miley Cyrus Set to Release a NEW Song Next Year!

26 10 2011

It is now confirmed, Miley will release a new song in 2012!

According to Ken Baker from E! News, Miley will release a new song early 2012 which is a Bob Dylan cover for Amnesty Intnl album!

Just confirmed: @MileyCyrus has a NEW song out early 2012. It’s a Bob Dylan cover for Amnesty Intnl album. Can’t wait.

Regarding @MileyCyrus new song, I will tweet more deets about the project very soon…

In an effort to salute Bob Dylan over his contribution to music throughout these years, an all-star tribute album is being planned. Electropop artist Ke$ha, British singing sensation Adele, and music vet Sting have been tapped to do the honor.

The CD is titled “Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International”, and is expected to be released in the U.K. on November 21 and Stateside on the following day. Proceeds from the album will benefit the human rights group.

Ke$ha is set to cover 1963’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right”, Adele is going to take on 1997’s “Make You Feel My Love”, and Sting will join forces with Dave Matthews Band and My Morning Jacket to tackle on 1975’s “You’re a Big Girl Now”.

Commenting on her involvement in the project, Ke$ha tells Rolling Stone she’s breaking down into tears when recording the cover because Dylan is one of her musical heroes. “You can hear the snot running down my face,” says the singer who claimed her fame through single “Tik Tok”.

“When you think of me, you wouldn’t think of Bob Dylan,” she gushes. “My music is more about going crazy than politics. But he’s a huge influence – he writes his own music and means what he says. I write my own music and I f**king mean every work I sing.”

The other stars involved in the forthcoming tribute include Rise Against who will play their own spin on 1964’s “Ballad of Hollis Brown”, and Bad Religion who will team up with Lucinda Williams on 1997’s “Tryin’ to Get to Heaven”.

Patti Smith will additionally cover 1967’s “Drifter’s Escape”. “I wanted to do something I’ve never attempted,” she states. “We had just completed our new album, and instead of drinking champagne we decided to cut the song.”

Miley Cyrus Gets Facebook Fans Talking About Hearing Loss Prevention

26 10 2011

Foundation Poll Finds 56% of Young People Have Trouble Hearing Their Teacher in Class

As part of its Listen Carefullycampaign, which sends the message ‘don’t listen loudly, listen carefully,’ Starkey Hearing Foundation is once again teaming with recording artist Miley Cyrus to encourage teens and young adults to take a “vow to act” to protect their hearing, and spread the word to others to do the same. In fact, according to a Starkey Hearing Foundation poll of more than 200 Miley Cyrus Facebook fans, 87 percent vowed to make the commitment to protect their own hearing, with the same percentage saying they would pass the message along to their friends and family.

A committed supporter of Starkey Hearing Foundation, which strives to change the social consciousness of hearing and hearing health care, Cyrus recently hosted a series of questions from the Foundation on her Facebook page as a first step in getting young people to take the Listen Carefully ‘Vow to Act.’ The poll received more than 8,400 likes among Cyrus fans and almost 1,180 comments, 211 of which responded to the survey questions posed.

In addition to those who said they would take action to protect their own hearing by lowering the volume on their MP3 players and iPods, 56 percent of respondents reported having experienced some difficulty hearing their teacher during class. This is consistent with reports of rising trends in hearing loss among young people – an issue that Starkey Hearing Foundation’s Listen Carefully campaign is trying to address.

With social media platforms serving as a popular channel for teens and young adults to communicate with one another, it is undoubtedly one of the easiest ways for individuals to take that first step in their vow to act. The first commitment of the vow to act initiative is to spread the message through these platforms, followed by the commitment to keep the conversation active by sharing tips on ways to prevent hearing loss among family and friends. Some tips from Starkey Hearing Foundation that can easily be shared on Facebook and Twitter include:

  • Lowering the volume on your MP3 player, iPod or cell phone
  • Using background noise-canceling headphones when listening to music
  • Getting your hearing checked on a regular basis
  • Wearing the proper ear protection gear if you’ll be in an environment where loud sounds are customary, i.e. construction work, cutting the lawn, going to a concert
  • Encouraging friends and family to also take the vow to act to protect their hearing
