14 02 2012

Valentine’s Day and Random Acts of Kindness Week both take place in February, so Miley and her friends at YSA (Youth Service America) want to encourage you to Get Ur Good On with Love and Kindness! This is the perfect time to spread love to friends and family members. View our list of 10 Ways to Get Ur Good On with Love and Kindness and tag all blogs, pictures, and videos with “Good4Love” to let us know what you do. Miley is excited to see how you Radiate Love!

  1. Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 13 – 19. Take just one minute to share messages of love and kindness on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. Share songs like Selena Gomez’s “Love You Like A Love Song”, pictures of balloon hearts, and beautiful love quotes. Get creative!
  1. Animals need love too! Visit the Humane Society website to find volunteer and advocacy opportunities. Singer Ke$ha is the Humane Society’s first Global Ambassador for animals.
  1. Gather a group of friends to make Valentine’s Day cards for senior citizens at a local nursing home. Find creative card ideas here!
  1. Want to host a “Go Green” block party, a school-wide sports equipment drive, or a benefit concert? Miley’s friends at YSA are awarding $1,000 grants to fund the service project of your dreams. Apply here by 2/29.
  1. Do at least one random act of kindness during the week of February 13 – 19 and share it on GetUrGoodOn.org or its Facebook fan page. Need ideas? Visit the Random Acts of Kindness website.
  1. What do Jaden Smith, Jessica Biel, Sophia Bush, and Justin Bieber all have in common? They all support the organization “charity: water.” Spread international love and get your entire school involved in a fundraiser to bring clean water to a school in developing nation.
  1. After many years of being bullied, Emily-Anne Rigal started WeStopHate.org when she was 16 years-old. She encourages teenagers to stop bullying each other and also love themselves. Write a “Love Yourself Letter” and embrace everything positive about you.
  1. Love the earth and take care of it. Start a recycling program at school, encourage friends and family members to use reusable bags, post signs near light switches reminding people to turn off the lights, or sign-up for Earth Hour. Find more ideas in an online search.
  1. Bake cupcakes made with love! Host a Great American Bake Sale to raise awareness and money for childhood hunger. The money raised helps connect hungry kids with meals.
  1. Did you know one pint of donated blood can save three lives? Donate blood or host a Red Cross blood drive at school. This is a great way to show love to people in need!
Happy Valentines Day everyone!!
