Congrats to The X Factor and Demi Lovato for quietly taking home 2013 People’s Choice Awards. Half the show’s winners were revealed online — or in random asides, quickly added after other announced winners — so we almost missed this exciting news. It turns out, The X Factor was named Favorite Competition TV Show, winning over America’s Got Talent, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and The Voice.
Also, our beloved Demi won Favorite Celebrity Judge over Adam Levine, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Jennifer Lopez. It was revealed at the start of the PCAs that 475 million votes had been cast for the show. So a lot of people love Demi and The X Factor — not just their parents. Great job, fans!
Demi ended her “break from Twitter” by tweeting a thank you to her fans for winning the 2013 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Celebrity Judge. Lovato tweeted:
AHHH! I’ve been so busy in the studio that I just found out I won the @peopleschoice award for Favorite Celebrity Judge! Thank you so much!!

“The X Factor” executive producer Simon Cowell has been on vacation in the Caribbean. No explanation was given for Lovato’s absence from the awards show but there was speculation that she was busy working on her next album. As previously reported, there were paparazzi photos of Lovato going into a Los Angeles recording studio. British girl group The Saturdays were recording at the same studio, which led to reports that Lovato is collaborating with The Saturdays on a song.
