WHAT: Former Disney Channel star Demi Lovato (“Camp Rock,” “Sonny With a Chance”) is concentrating on her music career now and will be in concert at Universal’s Mardi Gras celebration on Saturday. Her three albums have produced hits such as “Give Your Heart a Break” and “Skyscraper.” And in her spare time, she was a judge on TV’s “The X Factor” with Simon Cowell and Britney Spears. Saturday’s Mardi Gras programming includes the traditional, bead-slinging parade plus performances in the French Quarter Courtyard by singer Beth McKee, who splits her time between Orlando and New Orleans.
WHEN: French Quarter Courtyard opens at 5 p.m. with parade at 7:45 p.m. and concert at 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Universal Studios, intersection of Kirkman Road and Interstate 4, southwest of Orlando
COST: Concert and parade is included in regular park admission. A one-day, one-park pass at Universal Orlando is $89 ($83 for ages 3-9). Florida residents can purchase a ticket that allows admission after 5 p.m. for $74.99 ($59.99 when purchased online).
