Miley Cyrus took to her Twitter account on Friday to blast the media for saying that she looked a bit on the heavy side. The teen queen got positive feedback from Demi Lovato, who has suffered from an eating disorder. The girls shared a couple of empowering tweets and their fans loved every minute.
“Amen,” Demi tweeted to Miley. “AMEN! I will destroy any one that ever calls you the F word. You have the SEXIIIESTTTT curvyyyy body! I LOVE IT!,” Miley responded. “God I love you. SO DO YOU!!! And whoever called you that has it coming. Miss you more than ever,” Demi tweeted back.
It is so great to see these teenaged girls sticking up for one another and being positive about body image. It’s something that so many people—especially women—deal with on a daily basis. When the media suggests that a celebrity is looking “fuller” it’s not appropriate, and Miley Cyrus was right to speak up. It sounds like she and Demi Lovato have a good friendship and that they are on the same page about all of this.
