Johnzo West About Miley Cyrus: “We’re Looking Forward to Making More Music Together”

13 02 2012

If you were watching “The Ellen Degeneres Show” earlier this week, you may have noticed a familiar face.

Musician Johnzo West, a graduate of New Prairie High School, performed the song “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” with singer/actress Miley Cyrus on Monday’s show.

“She has one of the most soulful voices I’ve ever been in the same room with,” said West. “It has been such an honor to accompany that voice and to share the stage with her. And we’re looking forward to making more music together.”

The song was recently released on Amnesty International’s “Chimes of Freedom” Bob Dylan tribute record.

Other artists on the four-CD release include Adele, My Morning Jacket, Elvis Costello, Patti Smith, Cage The Elephant, Bad Religion, Maroon 5, Queens Of The Stone Age and many more.

In addition to performing with Cyrus, West has worked with such artists as Florence and the Machine, Robin Thicke and Dickey Betts from the Allman Brothers.
